Trump administration moving quickly to build up nationwide deportation force

The Trump administration is quickly identifying ways to assemble the nationwide deportation force that President Trump promised on the campaign trail as he railed against the dangers posed by illegal immigration.

An internal Department of Homeland Security assessment obtained by The Washington Post shows the agency has already found 33,000 more detention beds to house undocumented immigrants, opened discussions with dozens of local police forces that could be empowered with enforcement authority and identified where construction of Trump’s border wall could begin.

The agency also is considering ways to speed up the hiring of hundreds of new Customs and Border Patrol officers, including ending polygraph and physical fitness tests in some cases, according to the documents.

But these plans could be held up by the prohibitive costs outlined in the internal report and resistance in Congress where many lawmakers are already balking at approving billions in spending on the wall and additional border security measures.

They've been claiming there are millions of Americans unemployed who want to work if it weren't for those pesky taxes and regulations stopping them from getting hired. So Americans will have lots of great job opportunities in migrant farm labor and housekeeping and day labor jobs once we get rid of those immigrants.

If the wages are too high to hire Americans, the GOP has a great plan for lower wages.

If health insurance, payroll taxes, and worker safety regulations make it too expensive to hire Americans, the GOP has great solutions to these problems too.

On any number of levels.

As a nation. This is not who we are.

On a practical level. You know full well that they are not going to be hiring the cream of the crop. No offense to all you cops out there, but the reality is that when you scale up to this level, there are so damn many cracks for stuff to fall through, you know that you're going to get thoroughly unvetted people. Racists, white nationalists, dishonorably discharged veterans. The kinds of people who are actually signing up to round people up. These are not people operating from a sound moral base from the start.
