Handcuffed man shot twice by San Francisco police - witness reports
Source: RT
Officers with the San Francisco Police Department in Northern California shot a man believed to have a knife this morning, but preliminary reports suggest that the victim was in handcuffs while the authorities opened fire.
Police officers with the SFPD allegedly opened fire on a man armed with a knife at around 10:30 a.m. local time on Wednesday after responding to reports that someone had been stabbed near the citys Pier 17.
The Bay City News Service reported minutes later that there was an officer-involved shooting but did provide any other details. The San Francisco Chronicle reported at 11:30 a.m. local time that the man was shot by police after he refused to drop a knife that they believe was used in a stabbing earlier that morning. Fire Department Capt. Jeanne Seyler confirms to the paper that the victim was being transported for life threatening wounds, but did not provide any more details.

(90,061 posts)(07-18) 14:12 PDT SAN FRANCISCO -- A suspect believed involved in a stabbing at a chocolate factory at Pier 17 was chased into the Financial District and shot and wounded by a San Francisco police officer after he refused to drop a box cutter apparently used to cut a fellow worker.
The unidentified man is suspected of stabbing the coworker in the arm during some kind of altercation at the factory of TCHO, a luxury chocolate maker, said Police Chief Greg Suhr.
Officers responding to the scene shortly after the 10:15 a.m. incident pursued the man as he fled from the scene, Suhr said.
A female officer chased him to an area near Washington and Davis streets, Suhr said. The officer ordered the man to stop and drop the weapon, but the man refused and lunged at the officer with the box cutter, Suhr said.
