GOP megadonor compares Trump to Biblical figures

Source: MSN/The Hill

A multimillionaire GOP donor is comparing Donald Trump to Biblical figures like King David in an effort to woo conservatives, according to a new report.

Mutual fund investor Foster Friess wrote a letter to supporters drawing parallels between Trump and heroes of Christianity, The Washington Examiner reported Thursday.

"[All] throughout history, God has harnessed imperfect people to fulfill his perfect will," Friess said in his message before citing some examples. "King David sent Bathsheba's husband, Uriah, off to the front lines in hopes he would be killed so David could play cozy with the guy's wife."

Friess says in his letter he would advise "a principled evangelical Christian woman" to back Trump despite concerns about the businessman's moral fiber. It adds conservatives must rally around Trump following sacrifices the real estate tycoon has made for them.

But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, "This man is the great power (Gr. Dynamis Megale) of God."[14] And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries. But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
...
And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, saying, "Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost." But Peter said unto him, "Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee, for I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity."

I prefer to use the birth names of these people when I know them, although they did go by a number of aliases in their careers (and in subsequent hagiography).

Simon's misogyny is documented in the Gospel of Mary Magdalene, where Levi also points out that he is a hotheaded twit (his cowardice emerges elsewhere).

But Simon Magus is a good one, too.

A rich asshole wants Trump in the White House instead of Hillary because Trump will be a bigger benefit to him than Hillary.

So the rich asshole writes an OP to try to convince others (who themselves really want to be convinced) that there is a biblical reference to Trump to make these others all happy and cozy with their decision to vote for an idiot and a scoundrel who they KNOW is going to stick it to anyone who is not rich. All of THIS to satisfy their "conscience" when they cast a ballot for someone who they KNOW doesn't give a damn about any other living, breathing being on the planet other than himself.

Does that about sum this up correctly?

There is no credible evidence that Donald had Melania's first husband killed.

All dictators - or anyone wishing to become one - need a personality cult. One seemed to be shaping up for some time now; this just makes it official.

All he needs now is some flunkie willing to project his image onto the sky.
