GOP Senator: Don’t Tell Me I Shouldn’t Be Concerned About Trump

Source: Huffington Post

“Don’t sit here and tell me, Steve, that I have no reason to be concerned about Donald Trump,” Lee added.

Lee explained there was “no possibility” he’d vote for Clinton, and Trump could certainly still win his vote. But first, Lee said he’d need to believe the businessman would be “a vigorous defender for the U.S. Constitution.”

“I would like some assurances ... that he’s not going to be an autocrat, that he’s not going to be an authoritarian, that he’s not somebody who’s going to abuse a document that I have sworn to uphold and defend and protect,” Lee said.

“I’m sorry, Sir, but that is not an unreasonable demand.”

Unbelievable. If you have to ASK for a candidate for President to declare
his support for the U.S. Constitution and assure in essence that he won't
be a dictator, you have a candidate who is totally unsuited for the nation's
highest office.

To even ask these questions, is to answer them.

1. This is why GOP moderates will likely vote for Johnson or stay home

Too many of them are rabid Clinton haters to cross party lines. Johnson will get the protest vote so they can vote for down ticket Republicans.

I have to say Johnson is a hell of a lot better than Trump. Were I stupid enough to be Republican, that's where my vote would go.

Because as a “a vigorous defender for the U.S. Constitution,” you should want
it to be followed shouldn't you?

From wiki

Article Two of the United States Constitution requires the President of the United States to nominate Supreme Court Justices and, with Senate confirmation, requires Justices to be appointed. This was for the division of power between the President and Senate by the founders, who wrote:

"he shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint ... Judges of the supreme Court..."

Only an naive idiot - or someone who has swallowed the corporatist hook, line, and sinker - would not want to know what is in the food they are eating

the only reason I don't report it for abuse is that it doesn't
fit into a specific reporting category.

and all he's saying is that the donald isn't conservative enough for him. Some goopers will see that as a trump endorsement.

Fact: Donald Trump is an unrepentant birther. It's not possible to get any crazier than that, no matter what Mike Lee says or thinks.

his "so called policies" Does anyone know what he actually stand for or against. Many of his messages are mixed, confused. I believe he says anything just to attract the white, uneducated voters. Knowing they will believe anything he says.

he signed a letter to circumvent a sitting president on a nuclear arms deal with Iran, so, he along with 47 of his cronies violated the CONSTITUTION and committed treason.

Two-----------------this hypocrite thinks that the BLM is an illegal organization and he supported what the Bundy clan of criminals were doing in Nevada and Oregon, and he has encouraged state legislatures to basically raid Indigenous Peoples land for his Manifest Destiny and Doctrine of Discovery concept

Three------------------So for this hypocrite to come out and say that he wants assurances--------------well, dude you failed that litmus test, maybe you should practice what you preach before you say anything

“I would like some assurances ... that he’s not going to be an autocrat, that he’s not going to be an authoritarian, that he’s not somebody who’s going to abuse a document that I have sworn to uphold and defend and protect,” Lee said.

It's entirely expected from the likes of Lee (and his benighted party).

They were comfortable with W, with Palin, and now with Don.

Their recklessness and cynicism is boundless.
