Democratic advertising blitz awaits GOP's Trump

Source: AP

WASHINGTON (AP) — Long before Donald Trump swatted away his Republican presidential rivals, his likely Democratic opponent and her allies began laying traps for him.

Priorities USA, the lead super PAC backing Hillary Clinton, has already reserved $91 million in television advertising that will start next month and continue through Election Day. In addition, Clinton's campaign and Priorities USA have both debuted online videos that cast Trump in a negative light — a preview of what voters will see on TV over the next six months.

So far, Priorities USA is the only group on either side that has rolled out such an ambitious advertising plan geared toward the general election. The group's leaders say they're trying to avoid what they see as the core mistake made by Trump's Republican rivals — not pushing hard enough against him until it was too late.

"There's a reason that we have a head start," said Justin Barasky, a Priorities USA spokesman, "and it's that we've taken Donald Trump seriously all along, unlike the Republicans."

There's enough footage straight out of Trump's mouth to run a 72-hour non-stop infomercial against the guy.

His 'popular because he shouts what ugly-hearted people think' schtick only wins a limited number of RW radio believing voters.

attacks on him. And he shut Hillary up in a hurry early on when she tried to brand him as being anti-woman by threatening to bring up Bill's treatment of women and Hillary's enabling of it if she went there. This guy is good at this stuff. He's not afraid to mix it up or to go where other politicians will not go. Don't underestimate him.

It seems to bring out the worst people who now feel it is okay to be as openly racist since he has made it fashionable. Add to this the number of people who aren't thrilled with HRC and this election gets very dicey.

One must remember that the corporate media has ZERO intention of doings its job. To them the more shit flung, whether true or false, the better the ratings. Also, since this is a war of negative ads, the networks stand to make billions.

The Repubs couldn't withstand his onslaught because they spent decades getting their voters to believe their propaganda and were helpless when it came to a loudmouth spewing it at high volume throughout the primary campaign. What could they say? That their voters were dumb for believing what they themselves were agreeing to on FOX and in the many Moonie News outlets they tapped?

The difference is that Dem campaigns don't have to worry about turning RW radio audiences off. Treat Trump like we treated the Bundy ranchers……let them have the microphone. It won't take long.

They spew a blend of Faux News and hatred

HRC is in for heavy sledding

Trump's lies have to be dismantled not just with his own words

but with issues and the implications of his own words

Bringing our jobs back from China? How exactly? Seize the factories?

You think the owners will allow that?

I can't think any commercial is going to be able to convince someone to vote against Trump unless they're already there.

Think they'd do much better registering people to vote.

Commercials don't influence like they used to.

Muammar Gaddafi's tent finds home on Donald Trump's estate

Muammar Gaddafi pitched his tent on an estate belonging to Donald Trump in suburban New York yesterday, according to reports.

The Libyan leader is scheduled to attend the UN general assembly this week. He had been struggling to find a plot to accommodate the large Bedouin tent he takes with him when travelling abroad.

Workers were seen yesterday erecting a tent and satellites in the glamorous neighbourhood of Bedford on an estate owned by Trump. Local officials tried to stop them, saying it was illegal to build a temporary residence without a permit. An ABC News helicopter filmed a large tent on the 113-acre Seven Springs estate, with rugs and patterned wall hangings. Green and yellow fabric lined the walls in a pattern dotted with images of small brown camels, according to a local newspaper website image. Last night a state department official told AP the tent might be used for entertaining by Gadaffi, but he would not be sleeping there. Sep 22, 2009
