“I have family — a cousin — who’s gay, and friends too. I’m just against gay marriage. I don’t even want to talk about the issue, but I was asked about it, so I gave my opinion.”

in order to put them to death. Some random gay-hate "loophole" that keeps the endorsements coming in and lawsuits out.

Win-win for everyone, no?

in your spare time, please.

If he wants to drop it, fine. If he decides to speak publicly again in opposition to equal rights for GLBT people, then I think he needs to expect pushback from GLBT people and their friends and families.

End of story.

There is no point in learning, growing, changing, etc.

You are what you is and if you say/do something stupid for the rest of your life you need to be reminded of that.

The kids I've encountered who seem to (appropriately) apologize sincerely and without coercion are ones whose parents aren't afraid to apologize around their kids and to their kids.
