Ron Paul to end active campaigning
Source: CNN
(CNN) - An announcement from Rep. Ron Paul indicates that the Republican presidential candidate will no longer actively campaign for the GOP nomination, but will continue to work to secure delegates at upcoming Republican state conventions.
"Moving forward, however, we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted," said Paul, in a statement released Monday afternoon. "Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have."

(15,189 posts)We need that fly in the ointment. More votes for Paul mean less for Rmoney. I hope Paul follows all the way to the debates with Obama. LOL! Just like crazy ass Perot. I hear that sucking sound again.

(57,427 posts)but federal GOP committee are something else? There's very little ad-lib going on, even Palin was thought out (not well) before she saw the light of day on the platform st the convention. Paul's followers remind me of LaRouchies or maybe the laRouchies' voting age kids, with a Robert's "Book of Rules" clutched in their freerepublic clasping paws.

(6,440 posts)RP knows the system is rigged and is using his campaign dollars more effectively by, um, whatever it is he's doing (something to do with delegate counts, but I understand it about as much as I understand all the droning on about fiat currency and ending the Fed).

(265 posts)See my post below. I think it a plan...but what I believe he's trying to do is send people further right to the Constitution Party. I've done a ton of research on Ron Paul and he's been tied to the moral majority types and conservative caucus for many years.

(265 posts)considering Ron Paul has been tied to Howard Phillips since at least the 70s, see shadow cabinet here:
http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=u4ksAAAAIBAJ&sjid=AM0EAAAAIBAJ&pg=6887,3659648&dq=shadow+cabinet+ron+paul&hl=en
And Howard Phillips admits that he wants to blow up the GOP and send those voters further right to the Constitution Party, here:
"But Phillips has his sights set on more than defeating Obama; he'd like to blow up the Republican Party as well. For more than a decade, Phillips has been hard at work building the infrastructure of the Constitution Party, which he believes could pick up the most socially right-leaning fragments of the GOP in the event of an intraparty split. If Barack Obama wins the presidency, Phillips believes, this could be that moment." http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2008/11/howard-phillips-world?page=1
I don't think we should take our eyes off Ron Paul. I think he is probably one of the more evil players.

(265 posts)do either. And, you can show them all the evidence under the sun and they still won't get it. I've tried, it doesn't work. Most of them despise Bush, but Ron Paul's got plenty of ties to Bush and his people, even that doesn't get them thinking.
