Reports: DNC Chair Blocked Dem Resolution To Support Iran Deal
Source: Crooks and Liars
You do not get to lead the Democratic party and oppose the President's best effort to secure a peaceful solution to the problem of Iran nuclear capabilities. You simply don't.
That's the message DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz needs to hear loud and clear. She should no longer hold the title of DNC Chair if she cannot lead Democrats to support a resolution of support for the Iran Deal.
Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz prevented consideration of a resolution at the partys summer meeting here that praised President Obama and offered backing for the nuclear agreement with Iran, according to knowledgeable Democrats.

Debbie isn't just incompetent, she's dangerous.

(4,544 posts)nothing but heartache to me.
I remember all the way back to 2008 when she was behind Hillary 100% and she just seemed so disingenuous.
thanks for providing this link.
I hope our voices are heard.

(92,061 posts)"prepare a letter of support for the president and the Iran agreement that eventually gained signatures from a sizable majority of the members of the national committee. Zogby said Saturday that, in the end, this produced a satisfactory outcome.
We wanted to show support for the president, he said. We found that the best way to show support was a letter that members would sign on to, and the overwhelming majority of DNC members signed onto the letter. This is the President Obama we elected in 2008 who said, I choose diplomacy over conflict, and he did it.

So while the actions of the DNC chair went one way, the vast majority of the DNC members went the other way, and opposed her position.
Ironically, DWS has not indicated how she will vote on the Iran deal. Biden will be making a trip to her district, and present the case to her constituents. It will be very interesting how she votes. I realize most hear already believe she will vote against the deal, but I am not so sure. With Biden going to her district to argue the case for the deal, anything can happen.

(92,061 posts)resolution of support for the President on the Iran deal, she should step down. Even if she is against the deal, assuming that is what her constituents want, I personally feel it was wrong of her to block a vote on the resolution by other members of the DNC supporting the agreement. At least they found a way around it

(4,544 posts)she is supposed to present a unified cohesive image.
Sounds like she is using her office/position purely to enhance her agenda alone. And we know since she is fully behind Hillary Clinton, her actions are informed by that alliance.
It is obvious she is not thinking of the party as a whole, and trying to grow membership and unity.
Very sad because it is so obvious.
I have signed the Whitehouse petition to have her step down.

It's an unneeded and meaningless resolution. It shouldn't have been brought up anyway. I don't like DWS as the Democratic Party chair and I think she should be replaced. But this is no big deal.
