Labor Leader Bashes Romney's KC Visit

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A Kansas City labor leader said he is amazed that presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney came back to Kansas City for a fundraiser Thursday.
Romney is expected to attend a private benefit at a hotel near downtown.
The local head of the AFL-CIO used strong words to condemn Romney's return to the city, citing what happened after his venture capital firm purchase a Kansas City steel company that later failed.
"I'm just amazed that Mitt would show his face back here in Kansas City after what he did to the employees of GST," said Pat "Duke" Dujakovich. He later used a stronger word that referred to part of the male anatomy.
Romney's company, Bain Capital, bought into GST in the early 1990s. The company, like many steel plants at the time, was struggling.

(23,163 posts)He shouldn't be able to show his face in any city that has a Guitar Center store in it, either. He left them $650M in debt, and now they're an additional $1.3B in debt, and when they go down, they'll destroy small businesses all over the country (and world, for that matter).
