Family that owns Chicago Cubs gave $5 million to Scott Walker super PAC
Source: Milwaukee Wisconsin Journal Sentenel
The Ricketts family, which owns the Chicago Cubs, hasn't had much luck when it comes to winning baseball championships.
But billionaire investor Joe Ricketts and his wife, Marlene, think they've picked a winner when it comes to the 2016 presidential race: Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.
The Washington Post is reporting that federal election filings released today will show the Ricketts have given $5 million to the super PAC supporting Walker's presidential bid, Unintimidated.
Joe Ricketts, who founded TD Ameritrade, an online broker service for online stock trading and investing, decided to back Walker after private meetings over the past year at his New York apartment and his ranch in Wyomings Jackson Hole valley, the Washington Post reported.

I will never again give half a sh*t about whether or not the Cubs win another game, much less championship.
I will also be moving my money out of TD Ameritrade. Chicago is closing public schools, and this dick is giving millions to a Super PAC.

I guess I will change my mind on this now (unless they get new owners some day, or these owners change their minds).
Speaking as some one from St. Louis who is in a family with rabid Cardinal fans (including those family members who live in Madison, WI). Not really sure if the owners of that team are ever blue (I seem to recall some connection to the Bush family).

(8,952 posts)Second, since the day the Ricketts took over, I've been telling my family to stop
buying Cubs memorabilia because daddy Ricketts gave money to GW McIdiot.
The daughter is very liberal because she's part of the LGBT community, but the
sons are very RW, including the current Governor of Nebraska.
I was pi$$ed off when the Ricketts asked the city of Chicago for money to redo
Wrigley Field. I'm a baseball purist, and love Wrigley Field without any of the
electronic scoreboards and new gadgets around the stadium. Especially when
teachers are not getting paid what they should be, and city gets screwed on
what should be city services like parking meters.
Yet my brothers and sisters don't really care. As long as they produce a championship.
Ricketts are bastards!
I still love the Cubs.

They gave $600,000 to a PAC run by the Koch Bros. during the last election cycle.
The Ricketts don't care about a World Series, this team is just a business for profit for them. They get young players develop them into decent players then sell or trade them for a profit, Check the Cubs player/roster since these T-bagger owners took over.
