Trump: McCain has made America less safe

Source: ASSOCIATED PRESS

WASHINGTON (AP) — Ratcheting up his attack on Sen. John McCain, GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump said McCain has abandoned the nation’s veterans and made America “less safe” through his votes in Congress.

In an opinion pieced published Monday in USA Today, Trump also lashed out at his fellow GOP presidential hopefuls who have criticized his remarks, calling them “failed politicians.” Trump said he did not need “to be lectured by any of them.”

The op-ed comes as Trump is on the defensive for dismissing McCain’s reputation as a war hero because McCain was captured in Vietnam and “I like people who weren’t captured.”

On a contentious appearance on the “Today” Show Monday, Trump took issue with the media’s reporting on his comments about McCain’s war record, made at a conservative forum in Iowa.

UPDATE:

Trump's Op-Ed:

Trump: I don't need to be lectured - By Donald Trump

McCain has abandoned our veterans. I will fight for them.

John McCain has called his own constituents who want a secure border “crazies.” No one in the news media or the establishment, including the Republican National Committee, criticized the senator for those comments.

Now, as respected reporter Sharyl Attkisson has proved point by point, the news media are also distorting my words. But that is not my point. McCain the politician has failed the state of Arizona and the country.

During my entire business career, I have always made supporting veterans a top priority because our heroes deserve the very best for defending our freedom. Our Department of Veterans Affairs hospitals are outdated dumps. I will build the finest and most modern veterans hospitals in the world. The current medical assistance to our veterans is a disaster. A Trump administration will provide the finest universal access health care for our veterans. They will be able to get the best care anytime and anywhere.

Thanks to McCain and his Senate colleague Bernie Sanders, their legislation to cover up the VA scandal, in which 1,000+ veterans died waiting for medical care, made sure no one has been punished, charged, jailed, fined or held responsible. McCain has abandoned our veterans. I will fight for them.

The reality is that John McCain the politician has made America less safe, sent our brave soldiers into wrong-headed foreign adventures, covered up for President Obama with the VA scandal and has spent most of his time in the Senate pushing amnesty. He would rather protect the Iraqi border than Arizona’s. He even voted for the Iran Nuclear Review Act of 2015, which allows Obama, who McCain lost to in a record defeat, to push his dangerous Iran nuclear agreement through the Senate without a supermajority of votes.

The Donald is treating us to a situation comedy about as gaffe-prone presidential candidate who doubles down every time he says something he shouldn't. Moreover, the candidate is an annoying fathead and the audience delights at his foolishness and the trouble it brings him.

It's a good thing it's just television, because no candidate, not even a billionaire who can go a long way financing his own campaign, could withstand the disasters he brings on himself every week.

Donald Trump hires rapists, murderers and drug dealers to do his work
...
“It’s something ironic,” said Ivan Arellano, 29, who is from Mexico and obtained legal status through marriage. He now works as a mason laying the stonework for the lobby floor and walls of what will become the Trump International Hotel.
“The majority of us are Hispanics, many who came illegally,” Arellano said in Spanish. “And we’re all here working very hard to build a better life for our families.” [...]

“Do you think that when we’re hanging out there from the eighth floor that we’re raping or selling drugs?” Ramon Alvarez, 48, a window worker from El Salvador, said during a break Monday morning just outside the construction site.

...
So there are two possibilities here: Donald Trump is a one-man job machine for rapists, murderers and drug dealers, or he's full of shit. I'll let him decide which one he is.

This country is in deep trouble if this disturbed individual
can rate so high in the polls.
