IS suspects held over 'plot' to attack Saudi mosques

Source: BBC

Saudi security forces have arrested 431 suspected members of the Islamic State militant group, officials say.

They are accused of plotting suicide attacks on security forces and mosques in various parts of the country.

Most of the suspects are Saudi citizens, but they also include people from six nationalities, including Yemen and Syria, the interior ministry said.

Saudi Arabia is part of a US-led coalition carrying out air strikes against IS militants in Syria and Iraq.

Funny, how there are never any really successful ISIS attacks against Saudi or Qatari elites. Like an old script.

The Saudis do a piss-poor Goldstein, as a matter of fact. Laughably transparent, but they have so much petrodollar power over western corporations and governments -- who can tell the difference, anymore? -- everyone pretends to go along. Nobody really wants to turn over the rocks -- as you said, KSA runs a chain of retirement villages for old spooks.

Excuse us, time for the Ten Minute Hate . . .

7. That makes our side extremely vulnerable to doubles in "allied" intel services.

That's a big part of why 9/11 happened - we treated AQ doubles as "friendly" agents and let them in and didn't even bother to keep adequate surveillance and control over them. I think we were double-crossed twice by those who were supposed to be doing the watching. The country paid a high price, but those who were running these operations were allowed full retirement with honors, and the politicians whose policy failed were rewarded with a second term.

We should never again trust those who we should constantly be watching. Next time, those responsible and in command should be exposed and dealt with mercilously. But, we seem to be making exactly the same mistakes, so there shall be no second chance to get it right.
