Wildfire sweeps across I-15 between Las Vegas, Los Angeles, burns cars

HESPERIA, Calif. — A wildfire has swept across a Southern California freeway between Las Vegas and Los Angeles and burned several vehicles.

It was not immediately clear if anyone was hurt in the blaze that broke out Friday afternoon along Interstate 15, the main route between Southern California and Las Vegas.

U.S. Forest Service spokesman Uriah Hernandez says the fire in the Cajon Pass has burned at least 50 acres and is moving fast.

Fire went from a few hundred to over 3500 acres in just an hour, tho. The winds are pretty strong there.

they also said people ran from their cars and firefighters tried to move them but most had no keys. the people must have been frightened badly. I would have been.

The utter helplessness of seeing the fire come upon the freeway and not even able to drive away because you are stuck in fucking L.A. traffic!
