Charleston Shooter Indicted On Murder Charges

Dylann Roof, the white, 21-year-old man accused of gunning down nine black churchgoers last month in Charleston, South Carolina, was indicted Tuesday on nine counts of murder, The Post and Courier newspaper reported.

Roof was also indicted on three counts of attempted murder for the victims who survived, according to the newspaper.

I thought that Dylan roof had passed a background check. If the gun store did a background check properly, then there shouldn't be any liability on their end.

I suspect background checks are not much more than jokes, allowed by the NRA to provide cover.

Also the charges were very recent. I don't know if he already owned the gun or not before the charges, also a misdemeanor charge would not block an NICS charge.

The FBI maintains the NICS system. Its not perfect, and we should always work on improving it.
