Female pastors in Clarendon County receive letters threatening their safety

Source: WISTV

CLARENDON COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Two Clarendon County pastors say they have been targeted with threats of violence just because they are women.

The two pastors received letters where the writer used Bible verses to threaten the women, leaving them concerned about their safety. One letter was left on the front door of Society Hill AME Church on June 10th for Pastor Mary Rhodes.

“Whoever wrote this letter has taken the rime to find out who I am which means you may know my children, my grandchildren, and I have no clue who you are” Pastor Rhodes said.

Four days later, Pastor Valarie Bartley received the same letter at Reevesville AME Church.

The writer, who identifies as Apostle Prophet Harry Leon Fleming, says in the letter that “the woman cannot be head of the man in church, home and the world.”

And the right wing is worried about Sharia law? Looks a lot like Christian Sharia Law here.

They always assumed that they are the special snowflakes the world revolves around. They took it for granted. And now they see their specialness taken away from them. Rather than everybody becoming equal, they see it as themselves becoming lesser people.

They are angry. They want to be special again.

Your skin-color is no longer worth what it used to be.
Your gender is no longer worth what it used to be.
Your religion is no longer worth what it used to be.
And now everybody can have a marriage just like yours.

...and now this.

From The Washington Post: "Why racists burn black churches."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2015/07/01/why-racists-burn-black-churches/

Getting back to your particular news story, I grew up with the whole male headship concept (taken from the words of St. Paul, not Jesus, and of course Paul's epistles reference women leaders in what was then the church, so it's more complicated than people perhaps realize).

Sharia law is an illusion dreamed up by those that would impose Maria Law.

Birds of a crazy religious feather.

Fox is right .

There is a "war on Christians". Except they forget to mention it is a civil war.

And Fox is the Psych-OP's for one side.

Comes from someone else telling them what it means. And usually an American someone.

Movies, TV, Left Behind books and out of context quote memes on the internet. I honestly wouldn't be shocked to find Christians, at least, American ones, have read more about Hogwarts apostles than Christs. That they know more about Kim & Kanye than Mary and Jesus.

If any of them ever cracked it open and actually followed what Jesus commands of them to do to receive his blessing they would be shocked, afraid and humbled because it flies in the face of everything they have learned and worked for their entire lives.

There is a special place in Hell for Prosperity Gospel charlatans.

We feed the homeless in an empty lot across the street from a prosperity gospel church. When we first started, we told the prosperity "church" what our church was planning and asked them what they where doing for the poor/homeless in the area. (thinking we could link up and combine efforts) The Prosperity folks just replied, 'we're not THAT type of church.

/a very special place in hell, right next to people who talk in movie theaters

mainstream churches that still follow that old rule but most others including the AME church have moved to ordaining women because they do not have enough ministers to fill their needs. The mainstream churches that still follow the rule (that I know of) are not interested in enforcing the rule on other churches just their own.

My guess is that this is a racist who is combining racism and his own rw religion to copycat Charleston. I hope they find him and expose his church for what it is - a hate church. It does not surprise me that this is happening in the north. Racism is everywhere.

And no Santorum this is NOT about religion.
