BOSTON Newly released evidence places the Tsarnaev brothers at a New Hampshire gun range almost a month before the Boston Marathon bombing on April 15, 2013.
Documentation and video surveillance presented at the Boston Marathon bombing trial of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev showed he and his brother Tamerlan spent part of March 20, 2013, shooting 9 mm pistols at the Manchester Gun Range.
Tamerlan and Dzhokhar rented a Glock 17 and Glock 34 while purchasing 4 boxes of 9 mm ammunition from the range. Evidence, including release forms and receipts, showed that the brothers spent an hour at the range and spent $170.75.
The brothers declared on release forms at the range that they had an intermediate levels of experience with pistols, were not suffering mental illness or users of illegal drugs.

(39,171 posts)just how was the range suppose to know they were planning a terrorist attack?

(198 posts)Legal.
Why is this even admissible?
It is no different then showing video of someone going to the packie and buying hooch a month before the DUI they had. So what, it is a legal activity and occurred long before the illegal activity and does not show some pattern of terrorist training or activity
The crime is the high gun range fees but like it or not going to the gun range is legal

(619 posts)They have a weak case and are grasping for straws, without the Tsarnaev brothers, then somebody else did it, how embarrassing.

(6,036 posts)The video of his placing the backpack with the bomb next to the deceased kid I guess should have been challenged then?
This trial is about showing off all of Law Enforcements efforts and political aspirants taking credit. Guilt if there was any doubt was settled by the defense attorney on day 1.

"So what's our defense strategy?"
"I thought I would come right out and tell the jury and judge that you are guilty as hell."
"Yeah. Good. That will probably work."
What morons.
