Zimmerman: A person in his circumstances can't feel guilty
By MIKE SCHNEIDER, Associated Press | March 23, 2015 | Updated: March 23, 2015 4:11pm
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) George Zimmerman says in a newly released video that a person in his circumstances can't feel guilty over surviving a confrontation like the one he had with Trayvon Martin, the unarmed 17-year-old he shot and killed three years ago in Florida. He also criticizes President Barack Obama's reaction to the case.
In the video released Monday by his attorney, Zimmerman said he would feel guilty only if he thought he could have done something differently that would have saved both their lives.
"Only in a true life-and-death scenario can you have mental clearness to know that you cannot feel guilty for surviving," Zimmerman said in the video.
He also blamed President Barack Obama for stirring up racial divisiveness over Martin's death.

(31,981 posts)And not bring up President Obama at all. He's such a monumental asshole.
This thug has only himself to blame - for all of it.
I can't wait until he gets his - and he will.

(9,350 posts)My thought while reading the article was that he wants/needs money and he knows the way to get money from his supporters is to bash President Obama. I would not be surprised if, in a few days, a website, or a gofundme page is started asking for money for Zimmerman so that he can provide for himself since he can no longer get an honest job because President Obama destroyed his life. He may also try to go on the speaking circuit, write a book, or do another painting.

(3,248 posts)The guy craves the spotlight. His whole wannabe-cop routine was part of his need to play the big hero. Ditto that ridiculous rescued-a-family-from-burning-car fraud (anybody still remember that?)
He hasn't been getting his ego stroked enough the last few months, so he had to put out a video.
He will keep having these episodes until he's gotten himself killed or been put away.

OJ walks..Zimmerman walks...The red neck kid in Texas who killed 4 , walks...sad but we are still talking about Zimmerman after a crime he committed years ago...
We need to get jury's who have a sense of what they are doing...
Thanks

(9,350 posts)There are a few things George Zimmerman could have done to avoid a confrontation with Trayvon Martin. One, he could have stayed in his vehicle. Two, when Martin passed his car he could have identified himself and told Martin there had been a number of robberies and that he (Zimmerman) was trying to prevent additional robberies. Three, Zimmerman could have called the police and let the police handle the situation.

(160,656 posts)George Zimmerman compares his ideals to Anne Franks blames Obama for woes
By Lindsey Bever March 24 at 6:57 AM
George Zimmerman, the ex-neighborhood watchman accused and then acquitted of murdering Trayvon Martin, said he doesnt feel guilty for surviving the incident. But he blames President Obama for the way he handled it.
Zimmerman lashed out in a 13-minute video posted online Monday by his lawyer. He said with the Justice Department investigation behind him, he finally felt he could speak out without fear of retaliation by the president.
In February 2012, Zimmerman shot and killed unarmed 17-year-old Martin in Sanford, Fla., where Zimmerman was a neighborhood watch volunteer. Since then, Zimmerman has maintained that he pulled the trigger in self-defense. Still, Martins death ignited worldwide discussions about racial profiling.
Zimmerman was charged with second-degree murder and, in July 2013, a jury acquitted him. Then last month, the Justice Department, which had been investigating the case as a potential hate crime, decided not to prosecute him.
In the video, Zimmerman compared his ideals to those of Anne Frank, saying, I still believe that people are truly good at heart, as Anne Frank has said, and I will put myself in any position to help another human in any way I can.
