Poll: Scott Walker Most Competitive Against Clinton
Source: TPM
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) is the most competitive in a head-to-head matchup against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, according to a new McCatchy-Marist Poll released on Friday.
The poll found against Walker, Clinton leads 48 percent to 44 percent. By comparison, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), who like Walker and Clinton, has shown strong interest in running for president, trails the former secretary of state 49 percent to 41 percent, a shift from December when Clinton led Bush 53 percent to 40 percent.
Against Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), Clinton leads 49 percent to 42 percent. She fares better against Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), 51 percent to 40 percent, just slightly down from December when she led the Kentucky senator 54 percent to 40 percent.
Clinton's best matchup seems to be against Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX). The new poll found Clinton leading Cruz 53 percent to 39 percent, only slightly changed from December when she led Cruz 54 percent to 39 percent.

(7,570 posts)If debates no longer involve facts and discussion of the real ramifications of policy, then yeah, I'll agree that Romney was excellent that first night. Because he's a glib sociopath.
And Scott Walker is even more of a sociopath, with the added benefit of appealing to the "would love to have a beer with him" crowd. So if people are thinking that Clinton would be rescued in "debates" with Scott Walker, they are dead wrong.
Jackpine Radical
(45,274 posts)repeated the feat on the same dunderhead.
People typically believe what the media tell them to believe about who "won" or "lost." Gore sighed. I forget what Kerry did.
The media can do the same for anyone they want to elevate, and my bet is that the big money lines up behind Walker, assuming he makes it to the General. Regardless of reality, the pundits will call it for Walker.

I was up in Wisconsin just before the recall vote and noted there is a quiet conservative streak, particularly in the country/small town areas quite similar to Ohio's. Which is part of why I don't really want to move out of cities again...

Imo though in the end it will

will make the decision.
But let us not forget how one after another of their

(53,475 posts)Lots of folks seem to think he will lose because of his positions and actions. He will garner tremendous enthusiasm from the 30% mouth breathers because of those actions. All he needs to do is then split the indie vote (that will get him NC and VA), steal Florida and Ohio and he's in. The candidate with the most enthusiastic base usually wins. I don't see HRC getting people really excited, outside of her base. She's a known, and framed, quantity.
