We have a problem with too many guns. To think we should have our cops on the streets with no weapons is not realistic.

We have a lot of anti government/anti cop, heavily armed militia, sovereign citizens, boogaloo boys and on and on we can go. These groups are not in one localized area of the country, they are in every town, village, small city, big city and in rural areas. This is what our little town had to put up with a few years ago:

According to Deurmeier’s affadavit, Wolf had begun producing a weekly webcast titled, “The Montana Republic,” in November 2013. The intent of the webcast, in Deurmeier’s words, was to bring “like-minded patriots” together to counter local, state and federal governmental actions “that were viewed as overstepping on constitutional rights.”

In June 2014, while discussing the federal government’s involvement in local government, the FBI says that Wolf “compared shooting law enforcement officers to gopher hunting.”

In a July 2014 conversation with a confidential informant, the FBI says, Wolf also described his intention to “develop a ‘blowtorch gun’ able to target officers wearing body armor.”

The following September, after the Bozeman Police Department had acquired a Lenco BearCat armored vehicle, the FBI says that Wolf “stated the need to destroy the vehicle” in a conversation with a confidential informant and suggested the “most effective method would be ‘cooking it from the inside’” before reiterating his plan to build the blowtorch gun.

We also have had several law enforcement officers killed in the past 10 years. All of them from crazy, anti government, white dudes with guns.

We need to stop the killer cops and cop killers and keep the good cops geared for what they may face.

I don't think we should be going after gun manufactures. Everything the right is showing us now proves we need to arm and protect ourselves. Without the means of protection, the violence of the right will take us over. I'm proud to see people carrying firearms at these protests and I never thought I would say that.

I don’t think arming ourselves is the answer. In the words of the late, great Rep. John Lewis, "We must continue to teach the way of peace, the way of love, the philosophy and the discipline of non-violence.”

Thanks for the welcome. I'm trying to learn how to post and read replies, hope I am doing it correctly. I think for the first time every that arming ourselves is what we need. I've never seen so much hatred from the right, it feels like they will come after us.
