Any Americans in Greece? Any Americans in Greece ship dogs to/from U.S.?

Posted this in the Lounge. Thought I'd try here also.

Need info on companies (reliable, of course) shipping a dog from Greece to the US. I've been online and learned that Greece is a no risk rabies country. I think a rabies vaccination would be a good idea anyway. Next step. Find a reliable company that will ship the dog to the US. I'm searching for companies and have already eliminated one for bad online reviews. I'm keeping fingers crossed that this won't be the case for every company I search. At this stage in my search, I think I'll end up using an airline directly.

In a previous life, I lived overseas and took my dogs with me. But they traveled on the same plane as me, so that was almost easy, if sometimes a bit comical. In one situation, I arranged separate transport from South Africa to the US, but even if I could remember the company I used, I'm going to bet that they wouldn't be shipping from Greece.

Thanks.

Airline...there was only one where he could stay on the same plane, exempting him from a Hawaii rabies quarantine. We contacted a vet clinic in Hawaii...probably chosen at random from the long distance operator!...to pick him up and board him until our arrival. We can't remember who built his wooden crate, but it was probably the airline who told us the name of someone they'd worked with. The builder delivered the crate to the airport and sealed him in.I think the builder or the airline had to certify that once in he was never exposed to anything again due to the rabies consideration.
