Souvenirs now on sale in Alabama's Bigfoot Capital, including Yeti sticks

Source: al.com, by Kelly Kazek

Visitors to Evergreen, recently proclaimed the Bigfoot Capital of Alabama, can now purchase souvenir T-shirts and caps with the slogan.

The items are on sale at the CVS on Front Street. Stephanie Cunha, a spokeswoman from CVS' corporate office, said the company often offers "a select assortment of localized merchandise highlighting notable milestones or landmarks."

The City Council made the proclamation in February after numerous reports of Bigfoot sightings in the area. Click here to read the proclamation.

Councilman Luther Upton and 'Yeti Stick' - "I've never seen God either and I believe in him."

People have also called to report sightings of pukwudgies, a legendary gnome-like creature that's about 2- or 3-feet tall. According to the reports, they were seen on the banks of the Sepulga River.

"We've got some weird stuff going on," he said.
