General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region Forumsi hate arguing with trolls online
but sometimes it's fun
lets the stress out
having a "discussion" online with someone who claims Hitler and the Nazis were socialists....all due to the name of their political party.
he denies the nazi party was in favor of business over individuals.
he denies they got their ideals from the italians
he says racial superiority is a tenet of socialism
as well as expansion and armement
sometimes i do weep for the future of this nation if this is the extent of education the masses are receiving

(44,245 posts)Then they put words in your mouth you didn't say, and act victimized when you call them out on it.
Then they baselessly accuse you of being a racist, sexist, etc.
Rinse and repeat

(3,608 posts)thing and shut them all down...one by one. I use a lot of humor and hypocrisy highlighting...I'll sometimes start out pretending to be one of them. I have not met an alt reich troll that I could not handle. I rue the day that happens because I really don't know what I'm gonna do.
when they start using gay slurs, i come back onto the topic of their mother.
that really sets them off

(37,748 posts)Contrary to popular and trendy urban myth (oddly enough, a myth authored by America's own Wayne Pierre of the NRA), the Weimar Republic (which preceded Hitler's Germany) was much more strict in its allowance of gun laws.
Hitler greatly expanded gun ownership via his adopted of the 1938 Gun Law which deregulated the buying and selling of rifles, shotguns and ammunition. It made handguns easier to own by allowing anyone with a hunting license to buy, sell or carry one at any time. (You didnt need to be hunting.) It also extended the permit period from one year to three and gave local officials more discretion in letting people under 18 get a gun.
The also did a bang-up job in keeping guns out of the hands of criminals (which included the gay and Jewish communities, making them de-facto 'bad guys with guns,' the typical end-all argument for the slow-witted).
