He has long said that better relations with Russia are a good thing. Kushner and Flynn used the excuse that their contacts with Russia were to work together against ISIS and resolve Syrian crisis.

I hope Mueller's team can nail them for promising and attempting lifting of sanctions not just to reward Russia for helping with campaign but in order for them and their cronies to pursue financing and business deals with Russia.
