You know, Trump is not really the problem...

He's the symptom.

He must be removed of course but afterwards America will still remain the same country that elected him.
Unless the disease in our culture that elected him our president is defined and addressed we will continue to have politicians elected who want to destroy our democracy.

Where does this right wing suicidal impulse come from?
It's propagated by Fox News and AM radio but I don't believe that is the source.

Is it global commerce that eliminates jobs here?
Is it the massive income disparity our tax system encourages?
Is it fear of foreign terrorists or a vague fear of the "other" that bleeds over to include African Americans?
Is it social changes that disorient conservatives?

The unreasoning hatred seemed to really grow in power during the Clinton years.
I remember Limbaugh going nuts over frivolous complaints way back then.
It seems to me that before then politics was divisive but not insane and unreasoning like now.

I really don't know what exactly brought us here but I hope someone figures it out soon so it can be addressed or we'll remain in turmoil for a long time to come.

By getting rid of of the Fairness Doctrine, the whole RW hate radio and TV came into being. All the hate, racism, and xenophobia was buried. The misinformation, paranoia, and propaganda brought it back to the foreground. The trump poured gasoline on it.
