Why FOX News and Republicans have no credibility on the Mueller investigation?

Donald Trump could stop this political warfare tomorrow if he wanted. All he needs to do is to come out and say, "I believe the 17 Intelligence Agencies were correct when they intercepted Russian phone calls indicating their intent to interfere in our elections. The American people have a right to know that their electoral process is secure. The Special Counsel should be permitted to get to the truth about the extent of Russian involvement. It is a matter of national security, just as our FBI and our CIA has stated."

But Donald Trump will not say that. He calls it a "hoax". He believes Vladimir Putin over our own government. He has obstructed Mueller at every turn, with his comments and his actions. His people have lied every time they have been asked about meetings with the Russians? Every. Single. Time. And he has recruited FOX News, with people like Sean Hannity and Jeanine Pirro, to push his side of the story.

When the story first broke and General Michael Flynn, the National Security Adviser, was caught discussing sanctions and other "deals" with the Russians, he lied to the FBI about it. He has now made a plea deal with the Special Counsel. At the time, FOX News ignored the story. It was not important to them. They continued to ignore the story when Paul Manafort, Donald Trump's campaign manager, who was recruited from Russia, was arrested for money laundering and fraud and other charges, and is set to stand trial this spring. He could spend many years in prison. But FOX News pretended there was nothing there.

They closed their eyes to over-whelming evidence. Jared Kushner attempted to set up a secret phone line with Russia, outside the knowledge of our own government. As did Erik Prince, when he made a secret trip to the Seychelles. All the while, every single one of them continued to lie about it.

Donald Trump and FOX News cannot be seen as credible so long as they continue to ignore the facts and to pretend that the American people do not have a right to know the truth. There is a simple solution: Stop the lying. Tell the truth and insist that everyone that works for our government tell the truth also, including the President of the United States.

The attacks upon our laws, our institutions, and the truth must cease. We, as a people, cannot tolerate such actions. We insist upon getting to the truth. We will not permit FOX News or Rush Limbaugh or Donald Trump to sweep it under the rug. They have no credibility in this investigation. It is only now, when the Special Counsel is getting close to the truth, that they feel the need to report on it at all. If they were credible, they would go back to Day One and give their viewers all the facts, instead of attacking the investigation and the Special Counsel. The American people deserve the truth. We cannot accept lies and propaganda.

He'd go to jail and he knows it. He is a traitor and Russia stole the election for him and he knows this 100%. That's why he can't admit it, he plans to do the same thing in 2018 and 2020 on the way to destroying the constitution. He likes the oligarch Putin, they are both totally selfish criminals and he wants to turn America into Russia with a few billionaires and the masses can barely feed themselves.

They tell us that Trump/Russia is a partisan witch hunt and that should be enough to scuttle the investigation.

And yet there is nothing more partisan, more one-dimensional in scope and message, than FOX.

As you so aptly stated, "they have no credibility in this investigation".

Perhaps what they DO have is culpability. They're in on the fix. And if Mueller captured any emails between FOX and the transition team, that may also be a factor in this.

Could it be Limbaugh's and FOX's time in the barrel, coming soon to a DU thread in your area?

He could provide his tax returns as he promised he would.
He could properly put all his assets and holdings in a blind trust to avoid any potential conflict of interest.
He could have a complete physical exam at Walter Reed Military Hospital and transparently inform us of health problems he may be dealing with.
He could send his children, son-in-law, and girlfriend Hope Hicks back to New York private life and hire career professionals to work in his administration.
He could rejoin world leaders to combat climate change in the Paris Accord and other important matters.
He could stop stripping American public lands and protections.
He could stop playing games with the Press and underscore the importance of free press for a democracy.
He could come out against white nationalism.
He could allow an ethics investigation regarding the sexual assault and harassment accusations against him to proceed properly.
And on and on.
But then we are no longer talking about Donald tRump.

has control of the reigns of government. Fox News and Trump have no credibility with 70% of the nation, but that 70% is going to have to fight and resist to let Mueller complete his job and present unavailable evidence that the Trump administration colluded with Russia to win the election. There will probably also be enough evidence to convict them of financial crimes such as money laundering a well.
