(63,221 posts)thrilled! We have to keep this momentum going. I really think that Trump is turning a lot of people against the republicans and sooner or later, they are going to have to face up to that fact.

(149,748 posts)SO GLAD I'm wrong!
I agree that this vote was a referendum on tRump. Elections have consequences and tRump is facing that little fact now.

(63,221 posts)I just hope it happens before he can do any more damage. And you know what he's like when he loses. Be prepared for a major backlash.

(5,815 posts)This is just a good night in America. I was prepared for a loss but still hoping for a win. Looks like decency will prevail this time. Now if we can get the Orange Menace out of the Oval Office....we can set off more fireworks and pop the cork on some champagne!

(25,183 posts)We're not likely to see as repulsive a candidate as Roy Moore in Alabama for a long time, but it narrows the margin that the Orange Menace has to work with 2018. I don't see this as a win in the war, but it is a win in a battle.

(14,600 posts)refuses to resign. I just sent Chuck Schumer a note requesting he resign since we ALWAYS have to believe ALL sexual harassment accusers no matter what actual evidence exists or can be produced.
Sorry for the sour grapes. This really is a great night.
But I'm still mad about Franken, and that isn't going to go away anytime soon. It left a really fucking bad taste in my mouth.

(9,897 posts)My deep, deep depression since last November has been a soul-crushing event for me...I have been snippy with friends and allies and beside myself since the Trump-tavesty came to be...
I don't know how long it will last, but seeing blue cover Alabama gives me hope that we FINALLY are hitting a sobering tipping point and sanity may actually pull us back from the brink...I hope so, I miss being optimistic about our future again...

(24,079 posts)2008 was glorious, and I reveled in every moment of it.
2012 was even better, in some ways, as I was sooooooooooooooo afraid that all the polling and hype was right, and Willard was going to win. I burst into tears of relief when a second Obama term was secured.

(30,779 posts)was when Obama won his first and second elections.
My daughter was one of the lucky people who had a ticket to attend Obama's triumphant entry into Grant Park after the win. She kept texting those of us at the county Democratic headquarters, and we kept jumping up and down.
For his second win, my husband and I were lucky enough to have tickets to election night at McCormick Place. We got to see and hear the last real President when he came in and gave his victory speech.
I suppose we were lucky enough to win those lotteries because we all live in Illinois. But we also worked our asses off for Obama.
A heartfelt thanks to everyone who worked so hard for Doug Jones!
