................................................................
Trump spoke Friday night in Pensacola, Florida, across the line from Alabama.
TRUMP, surveying the crowd: "Look at these guys, 'blacks for Trump.' I love you. I love you.
By the way, now that you bring it up, black home ownership just hit the highest level it has ever been in the history of our country. Congratulations."
THE FACTS: Not true or even close.
The U.S. Census finds that the black home ownership rate peaked during 2004 ...
TRUMP: "Working with Republicans in Congress we've already signed 88 pieces of legislation. ... we've passed more during this period of time than any other president in the history of our country
THE FACTS: Trump's first-year legislative record pales next to that of a variety of presidents ...
TRUMP: We actually have a $17 billion deficit with Canada, right?
THE FACTS: Trump's accounting is puzzling and at odds with U.S. trade statistics ...
TRUMP: "They (his critics) don't want to accept the results of an election where we won by a landslide."
THE FACTS: His win was far from a landslide ...
His winning margin in the Electoral College is far closer to the narrowest win in history than to the widest.
As well, he lost the popular vote to Clinton.
TRUMP: "You know, we have factories pouring back into our country ...
THE FACTS: Factories are not pouring into the country, according to available data. Spending on the construction of factories has dropped 14 percent over the past 12 months. There has been a steady decline in spending on factory construction ...
TRUMP: "By the way, wages - starting to go up. First time in 20 years" ...
THE FACTS: It's not true that wages haven't gone up for 20 years.
The latest jobs report shows average hourly earnings up 2.5 percent over the past 12 months, roughly the same pace of growth as the year before, when Barack Obama was president ...

(269,219 posts)He's a pathological LIAR.
This morning while I was responding to a great post about his lies, someone on M$NBComcast was talking about his lying ways and it dawned on me that I have never in my life heard or read about a US President who lies like the rest of us breathe.
What's more frightening is that neither he, the ReTHUGs and his deplorable evangelical base give a shit.

(28,795 posts)they've just stumbled, perhaps, on the reality that they can now lie all the time about everything
it's too hard to keep up, for one thing, and the repetition of a lie is mere marketing strategy, just making the product being marketed the falsehood of the moment, repeated endlessly until it becomes ''truthy'' in enough benighted minds to have accomplished its purpose
remember how Romney and McCain lied their asses off all during that campaign?
Both Bushes (Swiftboaters, anyone?). they tell a constant stream of lies, either until they gain traction, or until they realize that spaghetti doesn't stick to the wall. no prob; they have an endless stream of BS that they just crank out....Russian hackers have amplified the process logarithmically
it's how they win
truth has absolutely no meaning....it's actually a detriment these days, cause nobody pays attention. the more scabrous the lie, the more publicity it gets. even when lies are being debunked, people remember the lie, as much for its brevity, in most cases, than the counter because the debunking takes time and attention to process
it's so much easier to scream, ''emails! Benghazi! Blowjob! Lock Her Up! Tax Cuts for ALL!,'' than to get to the reality of any situation

(10,844 posts)the snake, the very one he waxed eloquent about during the campaign, the snake that levels a venomous bite to his caretaker. He called that lyric/poem beautiful.
He lies because he has always lied. He lies because he has never taken responsibility for anything in his life. He lies because he cannot handle the truth, anymore than his ragged cabal can handle the truth. There was an essay out just this week, an analyses of lies and liars, the routine liar pressed against Trump. Hands down, Trump won in the game of lies and obfuscation.
So much winning!
