(5,815 posts)I think it holds 10,000 people. We cant see the opposite side of the arena in that picture but if it is anything like the parts we can see, it was a pretty paultry turn out.
But of course when tRump talks about the turn out, he will say they had to turn people away because there were no seats left. Not even standing room.
The local news on WEAR tv will be on shortly so it will be interesting to hear their commentary. It will be their lead story, no doubt. They are a part of Sinclair Broadcasting, if that tells you anything.

(5,815 posts)The line outside before they opened was long, but there were protesters, too. A few dozen according to the news.
It was cold, wet and miserable today and snow (a light dusting) is in the overnight forecast. Those who had to wait in that line had to be frozen to the bone by the time they got inside. I went to hear Michelle Obama in 2008 at the same venue and there was a very long line for that, too. It took quite a while to get in with security. So the folks who came out today for the rally had to really want to see that ass. One person did say she was not political but just wanted to see the President. The rest seemed pretty gung ho.

(10,110 posts)Usually not identified when the picture was taken. I was fortunate to see President Obama shortly after his last State of the Union and the line was a winding snake line that was blocks and blocks long and the place was pretty much full a good two hours before he was scheduled to speak. The only section that got filled late was for the ruling class.

(9,133 posts)A question for DUs math wizards: if PT Barnum was right and there is a sucker born every minute, and each of those Trumpkins was born a minute apart, having all those Trumpkins each representing one minute, how many hours, days, weeks of sucker-dom are present in that stadium?
This Math-phobic English major wants to know.

(347 posts)This rally was in FLORIDA. However, look at the photo -- see the flag hanging at the far end of the gym, partially hidden behind the scoreboard -- white flag with red diagonals? That's the state flag of ALABAMA . . . not Florida.

(32,098 posts)Note the crest in the center. The Alabama flag is just a red "X" with nothing in the middle.
