In person. In the Alps.

Sitting in a Gasthaus watching out the window while drinking a wonderful Austrian brew.

Sigh. A wonderful afternoon.

I hear ya; I can’t watch any more of the coverage either.

boycott the news tonight to give ourselves a break? But I loved Senator Franken giving his comment on the floor of the Senate today.

I don't he will slip away in the darkness.......sigh

This was a set up to keep him away from Sessions, Senator Franken had him on the ropes.

I'm glad John Shuster and Nina Roth got through in the American trials a couple of weeks ago, assuming Trump allows them to compete.

I liked Jamie Sinclair at skip but overall Roth's team was stronger.

Shuster takes tons of abuse during every Olympics so I admire his persistence. He's in much better shape this time and the team has been quietly a force at the world level, with a bronze and 4th place in the two most recent world championships.

Tyler George at 3rd on that team is simply a great player. I'm happy he finally gets to go to the Olympics.

The United States mixed trials begin in a week or so. Many of the individuals from the men's and women's teams will attempt mixed also. It is a new Olympic event and will begin prior to Opening Ceremony.

The Canadian Trials are going on right now, the Roar of the Rings. That is incredibly intense, the highest caliber of curling you'll ever see team to team. Last year both the Canadian men's and women's teams swept through the world championships undefeated but in this event those same teams are capable of getting beat right off the bat. In fact, it happened to Rachel Homan's team. They have battled back and are in contention for the playoffs to decide the Olympic berth. But right now Chelsea Carey's team is unbeaten and has defeated both Homan and also the defending Olympic champion Jennifer Jones, who is beyond her prime but still capable at a given event.

On the Canadian men's side it will probably be either Team Gushoe or Team Koe. Gushoe was favored and reigning world champion but so far Kevin Koe has won all the tight matches this week and is still unbeaten. Defending Olympic champion Brad Jacobs is struggling to make the playoffs. Right now it looks like it won't happen.

It never snows here.

We are having huge flakes.

It is keeping me distracted. I was depressed all day yesterday and today.

Snow was the last thing anyone around here expected. It hasn't snowed in 30 years. (Although we have had sleet and pellets a few times)
