But look, there's a bright side to this. We'll all feel better about ourselves while the GOP destroys our institutions, our environment, our world standing, our economy...you know...the stuff we don't get a vote on because...well...we're busy with other stuff.

franken is not up for reelection until 2020. There is no gutantee that a democrat will win in 2018 in MN. Reps have lots more tricks in their sleevs and they will stop at nothing to maintain their majority including voter fraud, suppression, false propaganda, etc. Dem party has gone insane, taking baits from alt right.

I'm serious, it's an absolute mystery to me what we do. We hold ourselves to a higher standard that we KNOW the other side will not only not uphold, but will fight tooth and nail to avoid even looking at. They lie, they cheat, the bribe, they cover up, and they win. All the fact-checking in the world doesn't do a thing to them, but the slightest accusation of impropriety paints our side with the broadest brush.

Do we do the same? Do we start buying elections? Do we start bribing and covering up? I know the moral high ground doesn't mean anything, but do we need to abandon our principles? Do give up women's reproductive rights to win elections? Do we give up on gun control? Do we give up on LGBTQ+ rights? Do we give up on equality for POC? What do we do to fight the cesspool on the other side of the aisle without diving headfirst into it?

The wealthy own the mass media. CNN and MSNBC aren't run by liberals, they're run by corporations, and you can look pretty hard and still not find any liberals or progressives on the boards of those corporations. The right has muddied the water so much you can walk on it, now. Facts are over. There's no such thing. When a bunch of people on the right still believe in Pizzagate, we've lost the war on facts. So, what do we do? Where do we go from here?

I'm so frustrated I can't even think straight. All I see are walls going up. Traps being set by the right and the far right that we keep face planting into. Now we're going to lose Franken, a tiger in the Senate, and Moore's still looking good to win in AL. I'm grinding my teeth into splinters.

Kellyanne was on this morning and when confronted about Moore, she of course, went directly to Franken.

The Dems think that by removing Franken that the Repukes will acknowledge that the Dems did the right thing and that they (the Dems) at least took action.

NOTHING could be further from reality and I get sick and tired of the Dems falling for this crap. I've said it before and I'm going to keep saying it: DEMOCRATS NEED TO LEARN TO FIGHT REPUBLICANS THE WAY THAT REPUBLICANS FIGHT DEMOCRATS.

I want to win for a change, and we need some candidates who have some guts.

around her waist. I shit you not.

D.C. was decked out and packed in for the inauguration of a young and popular new president. The town was buzzing with optimism, and one of the many events on our list was a swanky Media Matters party with Democratic notables everywhere. Then I saw Al Franken. I only bug celebrities for pictures when it’ll make my foster mom happy. She loves Franken, so I asked to get a picture with him. We posed for the shot. He immediately put his hand on my waist, grabbing a handful of flesh. I froze. Then he squeezed. At least twice.

Remember how fast they caved over Shirley Sherrod?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firing_of_Shirley_Sherrod

On July 19, 2010, Shirley Sherrod was fired from her appointed position as Georgia State Director of Rural Development for the United States Department of Agriculture.[1][2] Her firing was an administration reaction to media reports on video excerpts from her address to an event of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in March 2010 and commentary posted by conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart on his website.[3] Based on these excerpts, the NAACP condemned Sherrod's remarks as racist and US government officials called on the official to resign. However, review of her full speech showed that the excerpts had been selectively edited, and that her remarks – understood in context – were about the importance of overcoming personal prejudices. The NAACP and White House officials then apologized for their earlier criticisms, and United States Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack apologized for the firing and offered Sherrod a new position.

Extensive media coverage of the excerpted videos, various parties' comments, and later corrections after the full story was discovered, exacerbated the affair. The event brought to the forefront current debates regarding racism in the United States, cable news reporting, ideological websites on the internet, and decisions made by President Barack Obama's administration.[4][5]

The Obama administration apologized to Sherrod, and offered her a full-time, high-level internal advocacy position with the USDA,[6][7][8] which she ultimately declined.[9] In 2011, Sherrod filed suit against Breitbart and co-defendant Larry O'Connor for defamation.[10] In 2015, following lengthy pretrial proceedings, the parties settled the suit on undisclosed terms.

Skull-fucked by the GOP and Russian trolls. Brave women have stepped forward risking their careers to expose their assaulters, but we’re okay with anonymous sources silencing our strongest voice in the Senate. Women have gone on record to expose men like Weinstein, Moore, Trump, etc. at great risk, but let’s bend over for anonymous “sources” railroading Franken out of the Senate. If we allow this, we’re done.
