We're willing to splinter our party and show our asses to the GOP.... for what? For dubious, unsubstantiated, anonymous accusations?

IIRC, at least two accusers engaged in very credible conversations about the issues and his behavior. That's beyond the pale. Here we've to a couple right wing tools and a bunch of anonymous sources playing "drip drip drip". That's why Al Franken is different.
