Why are people even debating whether Mueller is looking at Trump's finances??

Money drives every single decision Trump makes. It's why he has a relationship with Russian oligarchs in the first place, and why they essentially own him after his businesses collapsed in the 90s. And look at the Flynn and Manafort cases. They are both based on business dealings with Ukraine and Turkey.

If Mueller wasn't looking into Trump's finances, he wouldn't be doing his job.

but, Trump said that his finances were off limits to Mueller and that it would be a line in the sand to him. So, I think people are thinking that it's a sign that Trump could act soon to fire Mueller
