So why is Conyers resigning immediately, yet Joe Barton will finish out his term?

Not to mention Blake Farenthold, who apparently is going nowhere.

All of their behavior is reprehensible, yet once again, the Democrats pays a higher price than the Republican.

I am SO FUCKING tired of this!

Agree that Dems pay a higher price vs Repubs as the right weaponizes our ethics and morals against us. That said, in this specific case, I think you also have to consider Conyers' age as a potential factor. Stress does a lot more damage up there vs. 55...

IMHO.

And also some stuff about "due process" blah blah blah.

He could have made some statement to take responsibility for his past wrongdoing, declaring his resignation as the correct course and that he wants to lead by example.

Instead, he framed his departure as the result of unpleasant circumstances.

He sent pictures to a woman he was in a consenting relationship with. It's utterly disingenuous to compare him to Conyers or Farenhold.

Both Conyers and Farenhold need to go. Both acted unacceptably.
