Former conservative radio host Charlie Sykes pegged it, IMO. He's now a commentator on MSNBC and I appreciate his voice.

Southern Baptist Preachers.

In the political arena, it appears that Evangelical "Christians" will deny everything that their "lord and savior" Jesus had to say.

Instead of reading the gospels, they rely entirely on their church leaders (who can't be trusted at all).

Remember, the SBC pre-approved Dubya's wars on behalf of their god.

If Fox News were forced to run balanced programming and AM radio wasn't completely inundated with right-wing nut-jobs, maybe we could actually have political conversations instead of demonization and divisiveness.
