Paul Krugman: The Entire Republican Party Is Rotten To The Core

The latest Republican tax bill is not just an unprecedented transfer of wealth from the bottom to the very top, but a fundamental restructuring of American society, from public education and health care to the separation of church and state. According to Quinnipiac, just 25 percent of the public approves of the legislation, yet it's expected to pass as early as Friday.

Paul Krugman believes only a party as rotten to its core as the GOP would draft such a bill, much less sign it into law.

The Nobel Prize-winning economist has been railing against the proposal for weeks, and uses his latest column to remind readers just how disgraceful its rollout has been.

They were rotten a century ago when they drove this country into the Great Depression. Nothing has changed, save for them just getting even more greedy, bigoted, and rotten.

They do not care if citizens know how corrupt they are any more. It seems like a badge of honor to them now. Worst president in the history of this country, and the worst government. I LOATHE the ugly McConnell and Ryan. Slimy, swamp dwellers.

not only won't they realize a tax cut, but will actually pay more taxes, especially since the personal exemption has been eliminated, interest deduction on home equity loans eliminated, and state income tax deduction eliminated.

In addition, with the mandate taken out of the ACA, those who must have health insurance will be paying significantly higher rates.

The argument that the reduced corporate taxes from 35% to 20% will cause more hiring is a fallacy. Companies do not hire people based on a tax cut. Companies hire people based on demand for their product or service

This is the biggest fraud perpetrated on the American public since they told us that Iraq had WMDs
