Get out and vote in every election, all the time. Don't think it can't happen here

I've posted before that Otto Wels was the individual that finished behind Hitler in the German election of 1932. The people there, as part of a very strong constitutional government, wanted something different, and Wels was dry as dirt, represented the status quo during the depression, so, what the hell, let's try this con man with the little mustache.

This is a scene out of the movie classic, Cabaret. You tell me if it doesn't remind you, just a bit, of Charlottesville.

Even my dog has so many "I Voted" stickers on her vest that I have had put them on her stuffed animals (she always votes with me). All of my classes since 1996 (teacher for 15+ years) voted for everything in our classroom. We went to the polls as field trips, even though it was in the school auditorium, and had private, anonymous paper ballots opened and tallied in full view of the class by fellow classmates, and the issues were ones that they chose. I hope they took my own personal "civics" lessons from my classroom with them and apply it to their adult lives.
