I was skeptical about Nicole Wallace being on MSNBC because of her history

But I'll have to say that she is doing a good job of calling Trump's BS. I think the fact that she was an insider in the Bush administration gives her credibility when she takes Republicans to task. These are strange times.

I may not have agreed with their past support of Bush and McCain, but once they made it clear how they felt about Palin, I determined to keep an eye on them. I will always stick with an MSNBC show long enough to see them appear on a segment.

from Rick Wilson, David Frum (would have never believed that), and even George Will. It is nice to see a sane mix of liberal, moderate, and conservative voices, minus all the crazy and hyper political noise. In a very odd way, Trump has brought some people together.

Bad enough she had her hands full with trying to buoy old white guy McCain under the giant star of Barack Obama.

Grifterella came along and pretty much undid that campaign. America's hatred has snowballed ever since, crashing with Schtroumpf's election.

Now I make sure to watch her show at 1 pm PST every day and I'm not disappointed.

When I first saw her on MSNBC, I was VERY skeptical but I have grown to respect the work she does. I don’t always agree with her but she’s not wading in the batshit crazy pool like so many from the RW camp. She is smartly critical of the job most of the west wing clowns are doing because she’s been there and speaks from experience.

I think she might be my favorite on MSNBC.

Also, I enjoy Steve Schmidt's take on politics. He has a unique and entertaining way of explaining the Trump White House that no Democrat has done thus far.

I know they are/were Republicans but we have to appreciate the truth wherever it may come from. It helps us and it helps America.

better than Katie Tur, who's of the "false equivalency school." Further, I am put off by Ms. Tur's belief that in order to be a good journalist, she doesn't vote.

She talks through her top teeth or something and doesn't enunciate. And her laugh is very grating. Sorry for sounding so shallow, but I can't stand to listen to her. I wish they would get her a voice coach.

Feet to the fire. She was great yesterday after what she called Trump's speech ridiculous and wouldn't let up. Just wish she would flip her spot with Chuck Todd, then it would be Nicole followed by Ari Melber...another fave.

Wallace and Schmidt realized early-on that Sarah Palin was a vacuous basket case and have since lamented the dumbing down of the Republican party. If anything they have more credibility in calling out Trump's GOP than many progressive critics, who can be spot-on in their assessments but subject to accusations of being "partisan". The sad thing is that for every informed GOP centrist who was revolted by and voted against Trump, there were 2 or 3 Dem or Dem-leaning indie blue collar voters who broke ranks and supported him.

When Nicole was first on, I hated her. But some where between then and now things changed. I would totally prefer her to host the 11th hour! Williams sucks. Nicole however seems to be getting better and better. She is still a Republican. But one of the few I trust and like.

Hewitt is an ass-wipe and has no biz being on msnbc. Not a big Kacy DC fan. And I do not like that Soboroff kid. Kornacki is not much better. Todd is getting old and boring, I generally avoid his shows. And Tweety needs to retire. Same with Mitchell.

I felt as you did when I first heard she was getting a show of her own.
Even though I liked her as a guest of Maddow, I was extremely leery.
I happily admit to being wrong. Wallace has a good show -- she calls out BS when she sees it.
She has renounced the Republican party and become an independent.
She challenges guests and she has the background to do so.

Ever since reading her post-Palin book.

Then watching her and Steve Schmidt during the Trump campaign -- wow. Did anybody in this thread watch their commentary at the RNC when Trump-Pence were nominated, with that appalling dark apocalyptic speech DTs gave? They were both as stunned as any of the rest of us. Steve Schmidt started talking about the US Constitution and the rest of the foundational documents, and how Trump and his followers and his enablers were a stark danger to everything this country stands for. He told the story the way I would have. And he choked up. He choked up and couldn't go on for a moment.

I am so glad that they found a home at MSNBC. We need their voices, not just for their pov and information, but to remind us that sane conservatives are our allies in wanting the best for this country.
