The russian lawyer is saying that when the meeting ended, Trump jr told her that if they (Trump) come to power they will see what they can do about the magnitsky act. Basically a flagrant case of collusion.
She is ready to testify to congress and Mueller under oath.

(6,401 posts)The more chaotic the US Government is, the less it can focus on matters abroad. Particularly when Russia is advancing its agenda.
Putin was always going to leave Trump hung out to dry, he was probably counting on it. He had no delusions that this scheme would eventually see the light of day, but the damage will be done and lasting.

(7,637 posts)on others who were in that meeting like manafort. It may just be something Mueller already knows. We should also consider the possibility that indeed Putin is involved and want to stir the pot. Getting a US president impeached would be further success in his goal to spread chaos. Maybe he realized Trump is too unreliable or dumb to manipulate and he has decided to cash his chips.

(613 posts)Lawyer is probably FSB-trained.
Jr isn't actually trained by the FSB, he's just bought by them to sell out American democracy.
Put another way: the lawyer is a patriot, a Russian patriot. Jr is a traitor.

(21,625 posts)when he moves on junior, and he will, i seriously doubt any "testimony" by the lawyer is ever even going to be entered into the record. Junior's lawyers would CRUSH her on credibility in an instant.

(7,637 posts)he can cross check what she claims with other people who were in the meeting and are already squeezed like manafort. Its just one more thing he can use to break the other protagonists.

(1,387 posts)She's good at muddying things up.
I'm wary of anything this women says or testifies to, or her intent. I believe that's the purpose of her continued public statements.
Hopefully, the meeting was picked up by electronic-surveillance of Manafort or maybe even the lawyer and one of her compatriots.
I'll wait for the special counsel to weigh-in.

(108,994 posts)She's demanding a chance to speak in public. In public she'll deny everything, for the record, in sworn testimony. She'll say that the reporter got it wrong.
DON'T TRUST HER.

Manafort is facing serious time. I think Mueller has a lot of leverage. We'll see, I guess.
