I am determined to view this as a new chapter in our lives and not be sad. Hubs got a new job in Cleveland and the commute is killing him. So I am putting my house on the market when I finish a few things ...if it doesn't sell ...bad time ...then off until spring...the new house is a fixer up which will keep me busy and was cheap...two mortgages in our future but at least one is small.

So we bought a fixer uper small ranch/bungalow built in 1955...1500 square feet above and full basement.

Kitchen reno on the horizon...we have Kraftmaid outlet near us. The opening you see is too a family room with fireplace.

Living room we have forced hot air but they left the little baseboard.

Bathroom other bathroom was completely stolen! but will fix it.
Someone took the vanity...but can get a vanity and granite at kraftmaid outlet for $40.00-$80.00

Master Bedroom there are two others.

There is a two car garage in good shape, but no pics.

You've got some work ahead of you but sounds like a good deal. I understand about the pets - I have a *few* dogs which limits my options but they're family and where I go, they go.

a subdivision and the nearest town is a 10 minute car ride. When my daughter was little we lived in a small town that was really safe, and she and her friends could ride their bikes around everywhere. I think my son is missing out not having that. We are looking to move when my husband's contract here is up in the spring, and I will be looking for another small town.

Ohio has jobs in the Cleveland area, Findlay which I really like also...towards Detroit, Columbus too. I like it...my husband got two jobs off of this recruiter...I don't know how old your hubs is but Ohio companies do hire older workers too.

We have our challenges as an inner ring suburb struggling with unemployment and loss of tax revenue from closed businesses but there are far more pros than cons, imo.

The housing stock is affordable and full of charm. We have an appreciation of history and heritage, in fact if you haven't been there yet make sure to visit the Historical Society Museum on the Commons. They have a wonderful collection.

Bought a 1958 home, ( remodeled for more space) in a town that looks exactly like yours.
Except no snow.
but yes to holiday decorations at Christmas, to lovely old old buildings on the Square, no parking meters, few stoplights.
Have never been happier.
