STOP fighting each other, or you will fall into what the russians want!

(8,652 posts)They knew there was a sub-group of Sanders' people who could not discern a "binary choice".
there were just enough that sat out the election, voted third party, wrote in or blanked to throw the election to Adolf Trump.
Since it worked so well before, why not try it again?

(11,119 posts)I give less than 2 $hits about your post count OR sign up date! The Russians have been sending internet trolls to infest US political forums for MANY years - this isn't the only site. I suspect that Free Republic and several other right-wing forums as well as progressive forums on FB platform have been infiltrated as well...
Everybody needs to think about who they are responding to when they reply to a post that bashes 1] Hillary Clinton, 2] claims Sen Sanders was cheated out of the Democratic nomination or that 3] the DNC and/or Hillary is EVIL! But if you are not posting stuff that fits into one of the three categories I just described , then I'm obviously NOT talking about you...
Maybe it's best not to reply to that poster at all...
But if the poster OVER-reacts negatively? BINGO!

(12,344 posts)The damage is done. Not everyone who fights is a Russian troll. They just have to believe the propaganda. The propaganda is designed to make people believe it, to inflame their emotions. Then they inflame other people, riling them up in either support or opposition. The people do most of the Russian work themselves.

Just tune it out. If you are far left and I am center left and we both vote for the Dem on the ticket, what difference does it make where we stand on the spectrum?
Just get out the vote! Don't sit home!

The link is on the upper left of your page, below DU Home, in the first section, Main; Main starts with Announcements and ends with Ask the Administrators. They will answer when they have time.

(2,832 posts)that I don't care anymore. So I'm going to vote straight Democrat all the way in 2018. There, problem solved.

(205,057 posts)This is a Republican district and many local offices are decided in the Republican primaries. There are a lot fewer Democrats running. There are often Republicans running unopposed, though we have been seeing more Greens stepping up, not that they won, but at least voters had a choice. If there were several offices to be filled, like the supervisors' board, I used to look for the least objectionable. But it was pointed out by a campaign worker that voting for anyone but the few Democrats on the ballot seriously hurts their chances, Duh. So I always vote a straight ticket - except I did vote for a couple of Greens when they ran against a Republican who was otherwise unopposed.
I'm especially hopeful about next year's Congressional race. Trump has very little support here and the Paul Ryan acolyte who's currently our Rep has met with protests and already has numerous Democratic challengers.

(7,808 posts)There is a thing called "native language interference." Once you know the sorts of mistakes a native Russian speaker makes, their posts stand out like a lighthouse.
I'd rather not say exactly what those are because they are easy to correct. They are not the same as errors native English speakers make (like putting apostrophes in plurals or confusing their, there, and they're).

(8,652 posts)Nobody says a damn thing about the Sanders' wing of the Democratic Party until they jump to the defense of anyone who bashes Hillary.
How about this:
"Tell them to stop lying about me, and I'll stop telling the truth about them"...Harry Truman (circa 1948)

(5,614 posts)You cannot believe anything you read/hear/see on the Internet even if it seems to be supporting YOUR own point of view. Spend your time getting people registered to vote and helping the GOTV work on Election Day.
Learn from 2016 that those people working to divide our people (and yeah, I mean ALL people) are working for our historic enemies.
We need unity and common goals, not rehashing old injuries nor allowing people to set one group of Americans against another group of Americans.
Just keep in mind the old cliche; who benefits?
