The pundits are full of dissecting the Republican party, Whiny Donny, traditionalist, young Turks, teabaggers, etc. Predicting how they will be hurt but, I admit, I don't see the Democrats winning much, or coming with new message that will get working class people, who voted for Whiny Donny, stop and say; oh yeah? This is something I want to hear.
At least, this is my impression. Hope there are better observations here.

People use the past to predict the future, but at times like this, when something new is emerging, the recent past is an unreliable guide. You have to look at major historical events that took everyone by surprise to get a sense of it - The Reformation, The French Revolution, the 1929 Stock Market Crash to get a sense of it.
