Trump and Cult are mounting their counter-offensive.
They have revived the discredited Clinton uranium and email stories and are telling their supporters that this is the real Russian scandal. At the same time, they are tearing down the efforts of Bob Mueller. Some believe that Trump is setting the table to get rid of him.
There can be no resolution to any problem unless there is a consensus with the parties involved. So long as the "Cult" believes that the Russian investigation is a "hoax", there will be no conclusion to this investigation. Because, in the end, there must be a political solution and there is none on the horizon.
Facts and the truth have little bearing on this investigation. It is more about who has the best propaganda operation and, at this time, Trump is the master propagandist. His followers are ready to drink the kool-aid.
As much as we would like to see truth and justice prevail, it is unlikely that either will come out of this battle victorious. This is not just a battle for the soul of the Republican Party. This is a battle for the soul of America.
We are riding the high waves of a perfect storm. We have no choice but to ride it out and hope for the best. This is not to be intentionally cynical, but rather, open-minded to the political realities.
We can never surrender. We must fight this enemy to the last drop of blood.
