NAACP issued travel advisory warning people of flying with American Airlines

The NAACP has issued a national travel advisory warning people about flying with American Airlines.

In a press release, the social justice organization said it was "alerting travelers — especially African-Americans — to exercise caution, in that booking and boarding flights on American Airlines could subject them to disrespectful, discriminatory or unsafe conditions."

2. This has clearly moved beyond "incidents" to a disturbing pattern.

Everyone should be made aware of this! And - although I seldom fly - as a white man, I will not fly on American Airlines until I'm certain that this pattern has changed.

angry at her treatment...and believe it or not ...there was pushback on this site;some saying if you complain you deserve it...what?...the pilot asked her if she could 'control' herself and talked to her like a dog. She was the one tossed off the plane by the pilot after boarding...missed her friends' wedding. I have already called American and suggest you do the same...let me say I twisted my knee last summer and flew into Atlanta where I and several Mom's traveling Spirit (they may have fees but are very nice) with strollers were allowed to remain on the plane until a wheelchair was retrieved for me and strollers for them. Tamika Mallory organized the Women's march...one of four actually. I thought they knew who she was but maybe just an airline filled with racists...and they blamed Tamika Mallory after the fact too. Tamika annoyed the crap out of me about the woman's convention but I thought at the end it was handled well and damn it no one should be treated this way. My daughter's boyfriend was asked where his 'boy' was...the' boy' is a 35 year old Black man who T doesn't really know but don't you know they always know each other the dark skinned ones (sarcasm) You wouldn't believe the shit that he has had to take at various jobs. He is just finishing college lovely young man...very good to my daughter.

pushback...based on how the pilot spoke to her. It seems this is a pattern though with American...personally, I give the benefit of the doubt to a fellow progressive and not a shitty apparently racist airline and their racist pilot. Also, I state again unequivocally, a person has the right to complain about bad service.

I was in the Dominican Republic, stuck in an all-inclusive with my sister, riding out Irma. Our flights out were cancelled. We obtained new return flights.

I received a call from AA at 3 in the morning, just before we were to take our new return flights, telling me that they had a return seat for me. But not for my sister. I have a Jewish last name. My sister is Ortiz.

We spent another three days there, paying hundreds more in dollars, because I refused to leave without her.

All the more reason to throw these sickos out of the car, then hand the keys over to someone sane and sober.

Seems systemic for AA: hubby's cousin's wife just retired as an American flight attendant. She is a huge racist!
