Almost a year after the birth of New York City's Occupy Wall Street movement in which thousands of protestors filled Zuccotti Park, organizers announced today that the last remaining squatters have decided to leave and instead camp out in front of the Ziegfeld Theater on W. 54th Street to ensure they'll get good seats for the first showing of "The Dark Knight Rises" when the movie opens Thursday at midnight.
"Unlike the original Occupy Wall Street movement, this will actually accomplish something," said Chris Davis, one of the last protestors to leave Zuccotti Park. "Not only will we be the first people to see 'The Dark Knight Rises' when it opens, but unlike Zuccotti Park, the theater is air conditioned and has indoor plumbing."
Occupy Wall Streets critics immediately criticized the movement, saying the fact theyre giving up just so they can see the final installment in Christopher Nolans Batman trilogy proves they never truly believed in their cause to begin with.

(37,166 posts)Considering all the phony accusations and twisted coverage of Occupy by conservative outlets, it's a little disingenuous to accuse DUers who don't pick up on the parody of being "humor-challenged."
