I live in South Central PA - the heart of gun loving America.
On my country road - I think NOTHING of hearing gunfire...semi-auto - and occasionally what sounds like full-auto. Im sure its transparent to everyone - you don't even notice really. Just part of the air out here!
And surely no shortage of explosions - locally attributed to nitwits playing with Tannerite - or "blowing up groundhog holes"
These are explosions that shake the house and rattle the windows - but are just dismissed by locals.
How easy would it be for these guys to be right under our noses?
I say this because - oddly I drove by a house around the corner - old farm with property - and there was a Pakastani flag flying at the end of the driveway. The Pak flag has a rather conspicuous symbol of Islam - Crescent and Star.
I wouldnt think anything getting a glance at that in a metro area - but out here in the sticks - thats like asking for a cross-burning.
Flag was only out there for a few hours - if that - and then was gone. Oddly - this is the same direction I hear a lot of this noise coming from.
Dont mean to sounds out of character here - but the whole thing got me thinking.

(9,750 posts)providing cover. The Atlanta Olympics bomber, Eric Rudolph, hid out in the mountains of Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina for MORE THAN FIVE years before being apprehended. He was considered a sort of "hero" by the populace, and I'm absolutely convinced that they fed him and provided shelter when asked.
