Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsHow the fuck is Obama's birth certificate part of Sheriff Arpaio's jurisdiction?
Shouldn't he be focusing on something else, perhaps the high number of sex crimes within his jurisdiction?
I really fail to see how something like Obama's birth certificate would be under his domain to begin with.
Of course we all know the answer. Arpaio's entire existence is built around generating as much publicity for himself as possible.

(1,706 posts)Arpaio is using the pickpocket approach to his own problems. "Hey, look at that guy," he shouts while lightly bumping his victim and easing his wallet from his pocket or her purse. Arizona is being robbed by an old scammer. That's all. They want to bring down a black or brown man so bad they will go to any lengths to do it.

(12,754 posts)Is why the media is giving him any attention. There's a homeless guy near my house who spends most of the day shouting at passing cars. The AP has never quoted him -- and he makes more sense than Arpaio.

(25,966 posts)Any considerations about how to best do his own job are distant second, if that. As with all such cases, you have to place some of the blame on the public and the media for enabling him. He's gone so far down this road partly because his jackass behavior *did* earn him some celebrity status, instead of getting him thrown out of office a long time ago.

(2,061 posts)I know people down there and they hate him and they are big on law and order. They think all he does is grandstanding and they're still mad he broke his first promise to only serve one term.
I've wondered where he got off on this BC B.S, is he going to start opening cases from other jurisdictions?
I've heard people who think he's doing a great job but they only know him from his press releases.
He did one good thing but it was at an expense of others. He put animals in the jail but moved the prisoners into tents. Great for the animals but this is Arizona and being in a tent there in the summer is cruel and unusual punishment. People don't complain because they say they deserve it but they've been tried and it seems that he's punishing them beyond their sentencing.
