(29,243 posts)"a large quantity of explosives" found at the home.
Pretty sure that would be considered "out of the ordinary"...

(11,589 posts)The brother in Florida said that he saw nothing out of the ordinary, he also said he was not close with his murderous brother.
I read someplace else that a second brother has not talked to him in about 10 years.

ProudLib72
(17,984 posts)That's absolutely NOTHING. Everybody has a statue of Adolph in their back yard. Why, I just painted mine in pearlescent white to protect it from the winter weather. Now I'm looking into a statue of Benito. I found one close by on Craigs List, but I have no way of transporting it.

(46,166 posts)This sounds like it took a heck of a lot of planning. And then getting so much into the hotel room had to take a fair amount of time. It'll take a while to get the straight scoop on him.

(8,419 posts)What part of 20 weapons fits the 'well regulated' part of the 2A?
Weekend Warrior
(1,301 posts)Not that you Agee with what follows.
I personally believe the Florida National Guard is a well regulated militia in place with one goal being to protect me from the federal government. This was proven out during the death of Terri Schiavo.
Beyond that I could go as far as saying any well regulated militia should be registered, members and Arsenals kept by the militia, and a charter established. Thats as far as I can go. Unfortunatley, the current court strongly disagrees with me on the 2nds reading.
hack89
(39,171 posts)then they were well regulated. Regulated has several definitions.

(39,171 posts)I assumed the two sentences you wrote are related to each other. Perhaps you can decipher your post for me.
rufus dog
(8,419 posts)You jumped to the conclusion that by purchasing mass quantities of sudafed that I was going to use it for illegal means.
Now using that same logic, someone buying mass quantities of automatic weapons (and fuck the semi argument, if a gun can be modified to an automatic it needs to be classified as such) is up to no good.
Now some may say a person shouldn't be able to buy that many guns, others may say that a person buying that many guns should have to go through background checks, perhaps even explain the use for collecting the arsenal, and gun show loopholes should be closed.
hack89
(39,171 posts)Owning a gun is a civil right. We don't have to justify exercising a civil right to the government. Background checks are fine - the shooter passed several of them. By gun show loop hole I assume you are discussing universal background checks - I support those.

(130,043 posts)The police found an arsenal in the gunmans hotel room.
At least 17 firearms, including a handgun, were found in Mr. Paddocks hotel room, said Sheriff Joseph Lombardo of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Some were rifles equipped with scopes, he said, adding that Mr. Paddock used multiple rifles during the attack.
A federal law enforcement official earlier said there were at least 20 rifles in the suite, along with hundreds of rounds of ammunition, including two rifles outfitted with scopes and set up on tripods in front of two big windows. Another official said that among the weapons were AR-15-style assault rifles. Both officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to divulge details of the investigation.
The police also found ammonium nitrate, a fertilizer that can be used in explosives, in Mr. Paddocks car in Las Vegas.
In addition to the weapons at the hotel, the sheriff said the police retrieved in excess of 18 firearms, as well as explosives, several thousand rounds of ammunition and electronic devices from Mr. Paddocks home in Mesquite, Nev. He said the police were evaluating the electronic devices, which he did not describe.

(7,286 posts)So his latest neighbors describe him as very unfriendly and secretive. earlier Floirda neighbors said he was very open and gave them key to his house
It is reported that he lived in 27 different residences. He was into rental properties so that might explain that
But all that moving around is one way to cover up criminal activity.
His companion knows his secrets.

(1,035 posts)The Golden State Killer and East Area Rapist boards have mentioned him as a possible suspect. My sister is retired LE in CA and she participates on those boards. Told me that Paddock's height doesn't fit with eyewitness accounts.
