Was Paddock a Vietnam war vet?

Pardon me if this has been discussed. Brian Williams said something about an eyewitness remarking that the gunfire reminded him of the Burns documentary that has just aired. I am wondering if Paddock was in 'Nam and just watched that doc maybe it triggered something? Point me to a thread, please, if there is one on this. Thanks.

what has happened to him. The fact is he just went and started shooting people and as far as I am concerned it does not matter what his life is/was like. I had several horrible things happen to me and I know people who had worse things done to them and NONE of us have gone out and killed or hurt people. Despite mental illness or being a religious party or political party there is NO excuse.

...can someone post a link to this when they find it? I'm going to back to the 20th century and Gunsmoke for awhile.

Nobody was drafted after December of 1972. The last round of conscription applied to men born in 1952, and those men are 65 now but the shooter was 64. So, not likely.

Everyone is looking for a reason, there is none, he was pure evil. Anyone who could point and shoot at that many people has no redeeming value.

I have said this before if he were a person of color, they would not be looking for why, they would be yelling BLM made him do it. Just because he looks like a "normal person" whatever that is, we have to figure out why. I'm done figuring out why these low lives go buy tons of automatic and semi automatic weapons and shoot people.

We should learn about the victims, not the shooter. He deserves no press. What if they just called him "shooter 45" and did not show pictures of him?

Eric Paddock, speaking outside his home in Waterford Lakes, said his brother was never violent. He never was in the military, had no history of mental illness and had no known ties to extremist groups..............

Paddock said the last time he communicated with his brother was when he texted asking about power outages after Hurricane Irma. Eric Paddock said his brother talked to their 89-year-old mother a couple of weeks ago to check up on her after the hurricane, and he also bought her a new walker.

“We have absolutely no idea whatsoever,” he told the WOFL-Channel 35. “I can’t imagine. When you guys find out why this happened, let us know. I have no idea whatsoever.”

Sounds like that brother didn't know the killer at all.

Either this family was not close at all or else they are in big time denial.
