For the past week or so I've noticed this message:
"Apparently I'm supposed to be more angry about what Mitt Romney does with HIS money than what Obama does with MINE."
I've made simple comments about sending money overseas doesn't make me, the voter, feel confident that he is confident in the American financial sector. I've also made the comment that if he took some of that money that might be floating around overseas and invested here stateside, it would create more jobs. (I'm not going into the other charges-that will lose them.)
Anyone, in the past week, one has deleted the comment, one has ignored the comment, and one has now blocked me.

(47,953 posts)If he wanted to run on his record as Governor, then maybe it would be less so. But he is the one making the big deal about Bain.
Ask these bozos- so the republican led congress has no say in the budget?

(22,871 posts)money is pretty much proof that the "trickle down theory" is a lie. Rich people won't create jobs if given more money and nobody proves that better than Romney.

(29,676 posts)I went to high school with these people and most don't want to talk about it-they just want the sound bite.
As to the whole Obamacare/Romneycare-yeah, they're angry it even exists. A few of them are like the people in the audience demanding the hypothetical 30-something die from his injury/illness if he doesn't have insurance. (Remember the debate? Yep, a few posted after that if it were a real case then he deserved to die.)

(29,676 posts)I hear it all now.
Someone made a nasty comment a few months ago about unemployment. This same person is on disability. When I pointed out how they were receiving government money the comment was that it was "owed" to them, while unemployment is for lazy bums.
(The person receiving disability worked for a total of three years before applying.)

Damn, I never thought I'd actually say it.

(20,941 posts)how come they never know anything about the actual tax rate, it compared to the historic rate, what the government really spends money on, that the Republicans in the house are the primary reason for stupid spending etc...
I'd believe they were concerned if they bothered to know anything about Obama's actual presidency.

(3,790 posts)Especially the ones who post about how he should take a pay cut and how too much is spent on his security details.

(20,941 posts)They applaud congressional hearings on Sox the cats white house mailing list and don't give a * about Republican presidents losing trillions in programs that don't work and would never work. Yet they want you and me to think they are really concerned.

If you're giving huge tax breaks to all those "job creators" and waiting for results, you might want to know what the mega millionaire and billionaires are doing to produce jobs in this country. Apparently it's not much of anything.

But of course, RWers tend to only talk, not listen.

(29,676 posts)They only care about how they can be just as rich as he is.
One of them actually said that the reporters doing news reports on him (Diane Sawyer was called by name) make more money than him. Well, duh, if his is all from interest while hers is from salary!
Gotta love how they turn it around.

(37,163 posts)...and the only loopholes he could close to make up for it are ones that benefit the middle class (home mortgage deductions, etc.), so it isn't so much what Mitt does with his money as much as what he'll do with YOURS.
Mitt got (more) rich by engineering deals that benefited investors at the expense of the rank and file. If you weren't at the "We're VIP" Hamptons shindigs, then YOU are "rank and file".

(3,860 posts)I've got one that's ignoring Romney's indiscretions and still talking birf certif'cates and how Obama should be impeached of it. Oh yeah, lots of secrets about Obama and there's a conspiracy why he's still POTUS.
I told him/her if there were any issues with Obama they've been solved already and I've no doubt whatsoever the GOP would have used it!
Yet, he/she claims he/she is an independent but in reality is in denial - he/she is really a teabagger/birther but don't to know it.
There will be certain segments of the voting public who are proud to live in an alternate reality, no matter how much proof you provide.
Eff 'em.

(29,676 posts)who really thinks that everything will be better under a GOP rule. Another is a woman who tells everyone that liberals are just lazy and just stick their hands out for benefits. (She's on disability, receives food stamps, heating assistance, lives in Section 8 housing that helps her pay her electric, etc, but feels that anyone on unemployment doesn't deserve any assistance whatsoever.)
Strange lot of people. Glad the only contact we have now is via the internet. No way I'll be attending my 20 year reunion.
