Clinton Says McConnell Suppressed Russian Hacking

New Yorker: “When the C.I.A. first told Obama, in August, that the Russians had been meddling in the Presidential race, the agency shared the information with the Gang of Eight—the congressional leadership and the chairs and the ranking members of the intelligence committees. The Administration asked for a bipartisan statement of warning. Mitch McConnell, the Senate Majority Leader, adamantly refused, muffling for weeks any sense of national alarm.”

Said Clinton: “McConnell, in what I think of as a not only unpatriotic but despicable act of partisan politics, made it clear that if the Obama Administration spoke publicly about what they knew, he would accuse them of partisan politics, of trying to tip the balance toward me… McConnell basically threatened the White House.”

The actual fact is that Obama made a decision not to come forward with the information, because it would look as though the White House was trying to tip the election to HRC with propaganda, and she would not be considered a legitimate president.

All polls indicated that she would win by at least 2% (which she did) so they thought that it would be wiser not to risk it.

I have also heard that the FBI was investigating DT for other issues concerning his business, and going public with an investigation on him at all would destroy years of work they had done and weaken the case.

There were very, very good reasons to go either way, but they didn't predict that the focus of the Russians and DT's tech people was to win via the EC.

MM is a traitor, liar & scumbag. He knew about much of the illegal goings on. He should be in jail.

I loved Obama, and he was clearly one of our best Presidents, even though he was sandbagged by the Repubs from Day 1. It wasn't just covertly either. They repeatedly announced it.

I still wonder why Obama didn't spill it all, including MM's threat. Yeah, I know, he didn't want to appear to influence the outcome of the election, but instead, he let the Repubs & Russia actually do it.

just re-verified. It is like calling for help and being ignored. You try to do it again, maybe in a slightly different way.

Maybe eventually some of it will catch on, but most of the public is not like the DU people, who want to get to the bottom of it & get the truth out. Most don't know or care about the details, and they are sick & tired of hearing about it.

My partner, who is British, but a US citizen, who voted Hillary, gets livid when the news is on. My mom, used to keep the TV news background most of the time...now, it's on Animal Planet. I lnow people whose therapists have told them to stay away from the news, as it is too time consuming to keep up & they are neglecting other parts of their lives.

I don't know what the solution is. I remember when Obams was Prez and Hillary was SOS, I told a friend that I didn't have to keep up with everything anymore because I trusted they had good judgment & did their best. I never expected perfection.

However, I never expected this disaster of an administration, ever. It isn't so much that Hillary lost, but that Donald Trump is Prez. I would have been fine with Bernie. Hell, I even wish we had Jeb! as Prez. He wouldn't be a national embarrassment, we would still be allies with Mexico, & we probably wouldn't be on the brink of an accidental WWIII.

Intent was good. He was reading & studying Lincoln. He wanted to unite the Union. However, these modern day Repubs, maybe not all, but 80pc, like MM, PR, Trey Gowdy, Jason Chafetz sp?, have no conscience. He had learned, after a few years, which is why it just doesn't make sense that he let MM bully him. I have theories, but nada mas.

When did we become so --

Well, just as a note of history -- In 1939 the Nazis offered 7 million in gold to US senators and congressmen willing to work to keep America out of the war.

Some 50 sitting senators/congressmen accepted.

All of them were Republicans.
